I am a single mother of a biracial baby boy just trying to make it on my own. This journey is hard, yet rewarding. Blogging is my therapy, these words are my heart, and people doing better and being inspired by what I have written is my passion and hope.

That's a great idea, Heather. I keep forgetting to get him books that I can read to him. I was holding him last night while wanting to read American Psycho., so I read aloud the tame pages but I don't think he was feeling it lol.

I always heard baby needed to be introduced to letters and numbers at around 3 months but you make a great point.

Thanks for the compliments :)

I'm sure it couldn't hurt to introduce him to those things, but at this point I think babies are jsut learning how to process the endless stream of stimulation around them. It will come, naturally. Really. He'll pick up on so, so, so much over the next year, and then he'll slowly be interested in learning more specific things. It all just clicks when the time is right and the opportunities are available.

Reading with him is definitely, positively, absolutely beneficial at this age (and every age). Just hearing the different words and sounds and the time you spend together will pay off for sure.

By the way, that baby is SOOOOO freaking cute. I love the smile.

And congrats on the 10 hours. I'm hoping you'll get more of that.
