Any kind of child care that involves somebody besides yourself watching your baby is a struggle. Go with your gut, and look at the other kids there-are they happy? Keep in mind as your son goes through the seperation anxiety stages he may cry hysterically as you leave him, but that doesn't neccesarily mean he is unhappy there. Often the crying stops the second you are out the door. I always play I spy and sneak watch him to see the crying stop and how he reacts when he thinks I'm not there.
